Become a Certified Referee for the 2026 Season!

Registration is officially open. Get certified now to be on the field for opening weekend, start earning money, and join the game!

The Essentials:

  • Minimum Age: 13 years old
  • Total Cost: $80 (covers both online and in-person training)
  • Validity: Your 2026 badge is good for the entire calendar year.

How to Get Started

The certification is a simple two-part process:

  1. Part 1: Online Lessons Complete these at your own pace. Content takes approximately 6.5 hours (for ages 17 & under) or 8 hours (for ages 18+).

Note: You must finish all online lessons before you can sign up for an in-person clinic.

  1. Part 2: In-Person Clinic Attend a hands-on session. You can choose any clinic location that fits your schedule.

  • Date/Time: Saturday, Feb 14 | 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Registration Steps

  1. Log in to OMS: ntxreferees.omgtsys.com
  2. Find Clinic: Select “Entry USSF Referee – Never been a USSF Referee Before.”
  3. Register for Part 1: Click “Info” on the Online Lessons to create your account and pay the $80 fee.
  4. Complete Lessons: Finish the online portion to unlock the clinic schedule.
  5. Book Clinic: Select your preferred in-person date (like the Longview clinic on Feb 14).

Part 2 – Select an in-person clinic to attend

Once you complete the entire online lessons, you’ll be able to select an in-person clinic to go to on OMS. You will see the words – ONLINE LESSONS COMPLETED highlighted in green to know that you can select the in-person clinic you wish to attend.

The in-person clinic is 3.5 hours. This is the field session done outdoors.

Lots of important information is given to all attendees – who you will work for, how to get games, where to get uniforms, etc.

You must complete both parts in order to become a referee.
